One Year After Iraq, The Prairie Navy Deploys and Tricare Updates

Veteran Mentorship Program & 133rd Airlift Wing

This week we’ll discover a veteran mentorship program with Minnesota’s best companies and we’ll catch up with a Minnesota Airman just back from the Middle East. Guests include:

This week’s featured veteran is Marine Veteran Geraldo ‘Jerry’ Morales. Jerry is an accomplished Graphic Designer with over 10 years of creative experience. He has wide-ranging skills with expertise in project management, print production, vendor relations and marketing communications. He’s a critical thinker and effective problem-solver who works well under pressure, taking pride in the fact that he has never missed a deadline. Although he’s currently working freelance projects and working with a Veterans Service Organization as their Marketing Operations Manager, he would love the opportunity to join a company on a full-time basis where he can make a positive impact and be a valued asset.

Adapt Study and Wild Wings Pheasant Hunt

This week we find out about a study from the University of Minnesota with the help of the Minnesota National Guard and Reserves that studies family resilience and is developing tools to support resilience among military families as they cope with the stress of deployment and reintegration.  We also talked with Mike Polehna and heard out about the upcoming Welcome Home the Troops Pheasant Hunt at Wild Wings of Oneka.

This week’s veteran is Sgt. Krista Hanson from Blaine, Minnesota. Krista just returned from his first tour in Iraq and Kuwait. As a Human Resources Non-commissioned Officer with the Minnesota National Guard, she was responsible for maintaining and updating the unit’s personnel files and any handling administrative issues. She is also pursuing a degree in Business and Administration.

Minnesota’s American Legion & Reintegrating the Red Bulls

This week we go in depth on what it takes to reintegrate the thousands of Soldiers of the Minnesota National Guard’s 1st Brigade Red Bulls after their yearlong tour in Iraq and Kuwait.
