Rebuilding Afghanistan & Veterans Adult Day Center

This week, we check in on the rebuilding efforts and drawdown in Afghanistan and with more and more aging veterans being cared for at home, we discover a respite option available for them and their caregivers. Guests include:

Army Corps of Engineers & Veterans Stand Down

This week we’ll find out why Minnesota’s homeless veteran stand downs have nearly doubled in size. Also, we’ll hear the latest on flood preparations, the Asian Carp invasion and more from the Army Corps of Engineers. Guests include:

This week’s veteran is Specialist Shane Kaplan of Minneapolis. Shane just returned from his first tour in Iraq and Kuwait. As a Medic with the Minnesota National Guard, he was the first line of care for 13 Soldiers on his convoy security team. He is also a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician and is currently pursuing an associate’s degree in Paramedicine.
