This week, we’ll discover Fort Snelling’s last war with military historian Stephan Osman and, with the holidays quickly approaching, Les Hanson of Toys4Military Kids will join us to talk about how you can help kids in need.

This week’s featured veteran in Army Capt. Ryan Curl. Ryan just returned from his first tour in Afghanistan having also completed a tour in Iraq. As a Logistics Officer with the Minnesota National Guard, he was a Military Advisor for the Afghan National Army. He has experience managing several support organizations in addition to recruiting and marketing for the Army ROTC program at the University of Minnesota. He’s also held civilian jobs for the American Red Cross and at a family owned bank.

This week we discover Minnesota’s Disabled American Veterans with Stephen Whitehead and we’ll take a look at Fort Snelling’s Civil War Weekend with historian Stephan Osman.

This week’s veteran is Army Corporal Erik Melia. He has a bachelors degree in law enforcement and is post board certified.

This week’s veteran is Specialist William Felsburg of Coon Rapids. William just returned from his first tour overseas. As an Administrative Assistant with the Minnesota National Guard, he was responsible for tracking and providing administrative support for 67 Soldiers in his unit. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree and career in Business Administration.

This week’s veteran is Spec. Shawn O’Brien of Apple Valley. Shawn just returned from his second tour in Iraq and Kuwait and has been working full time with the Minnesota National Guard for the past 6 years. As a supply specialist, he was responsible for acquiring a variety of different products and managing personal records for over six hundred Soldiers. Shawn has a variety of experience in the work force but is most proficient in logistics, inventory control, customer service and leadership.
