This week we talk with Lt. Col Barry Bridger, a Vietnam POW who spent 6 years in the infamous Hanoi Hilton. Capt Bridger began flying combat missions during his first regular tour of duty in Southeast Asia with the 497th Tactical Fighter Squadron at Ubon Royal Thai AFB, Thailand, in late 1966. He was forced to eject over North Vietnam on January 23, 1967, and was taken as a Prisoner of War. After spending 2,232 days in captivity, he was released during Operation Homecoming on March 4, 1973, and was hospitalized for his injuries at Andrews AFB, Maryland.

This week we recorded the show live at the Minnesota State Fair on Military Appreciation Day. The U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines were well represented at the KTLK booth. Minnesota National Guard, Adjutant General, Maj. Gen. Richard Nash was our first guest and we found out about what the Army and Guard in Minnesota was focusing on. We also had Navy CMD Denise Spainer on the show and she gave us the run down on Naval Operations originating from our state and told us about the Navy Ball. Marine Command Sgt. Maj. Duane Hauer talked to about recent Marine Deployments and their popular Toys For Tots program. Air Force Greg Greg Haase wrapped up another great show at the fair with information about Air Force and Air Wing operations, recent deployments and current deployments. One topic every leader said they were focusing on is Veteran’s employment.
